Terms of use

The fine print, in plain language.

The notebook is offered for free, with no commercial purpose. By reading it, you accept the conditions below.

In effect from 30 April 2026.

1. The nature of this site

Pass Museum Online is a personal notebook published by Nadia Farouk. It contains practical advice, observations and opinions about visiting museums in Egypt. It is not affiliated with any museum, with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, with the Supreme Council of Antiquities, or with any travel agency or tour operator. Nothing on this site is sponsored, paid for, or written under commercial direction.

2. Not a commercial offer

This site sells nothing. It does not arrange entry to any museum, it does not arrange tours, transport, or accommodation, it does not act as a booking intermediary, and it does not receive commissions from anyone. References to museums, galleries, routes or seasons are descriptive, not transactional. If you wish to visit a museum, please contact that museum directly. The notebook cannot guarantee that any practical detail it mentions is current at the moment of reading.

3. Copyright

The text and original photography on this site are the copyright of Nadia Farouk unless otherwise noted. Quotations of up to three hundred (300) words are permitted under fair-dealing for review or scholarly purposes provided the source is named. For longer quotations, translations, or any reproduction in print, please write to [email protected].

4. Trademarks and names

The names of museums, exhibitions, transport networks and institutions are used for identification only. Their use does not imply any partnership or endorsement.

5. Accuracy and corrections

The notebook is revised on a roughly quarterly cycle. Hours, closures, and route details can change between revisions. Corrections are welcomed at [email protected] and are usually applied within ten days. The "last revised" date at the top of each piece tells you when it was last checked.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Egyptian law, Nadia Farouk accepts no liability for any decision the reader takes on the basis of material published on this site, including travel decisions, scheduling decisions, or interpretive decisions about objects in museums. The reader uses the site at their own discretion and should always verify operationally important information directly with the institution concerned.

7. Letters and the contact form

If you write to the editorial address, you grant a non-exclusive licence to quote, edit and publish the substance of your letter — anonymously by default — in subsequent revisions of the site. If you do not wish your letter to be quoted, please mark it "not for publication" and we will respect that.

8. Linking

Linking to any page is welcome and does not require permission. Republishing pieces in full on other sites, framing the site within another site, or scraping the site for machine-learning training data is not permitted without written consent.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any dispute arising from or in connection with this site or its content shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt. For European readers, this clause does not affect mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under your local law.

10. Contact

For any question about these terms, please write to [email protected].
